Mythical Kingdom

 

This is a place where stories come to life. Here, mythology, fairytales, and more live within a fantasy environment where anything is possible and adventure awaits.

Entering from Hogsmeade, guests come into a place resembling Far Far Away from the Shrek films. Here, guests may pass by Shrek's swamp before going into the village itself. In the center of the village is Fairytale Carousel, a carousel with horses (and perhaps a donkey every here and there). Surrounding it is Cherry Lane Bakery, Fairy Godmother Gifts, Royal Emporium, Jack Horner Trinkets, and Far, Far Away Tavern. Located nearby is a family coaster, Magic Airways, as well as Donkey: Live, a Turtle Talk-esque interaction with Donkey. In the castle is the Royal Hall, a place to eat, as well as Puss in Boots: A Gigantic Journey, a trackless ride where guests go search for a lost treasure within Far, Far Away, encountering several outlaws and traps along he way. The King's Treasury is a gift shop.

Next up is an area resembling a Viking village, most especially Berk from How to Train your Dragon. Here, guests can ride back and forth in a giant Viking Ship near the docks. They can also shop at Gobber's Blacksmith Shop or dine at Dragon Tooth Tavern. The Great Hall also serves as a dining option, even though it is not entered through the hall itself. It is entered through a passage in a Viking home. The real entrance to the Great Hall is where guests can board How to Train your Dragon: Flight over Berk. Similar to Avatar Flight of Passage, this is a ride where guests join Hiccup and the Dragon Riders as they deal with a hidden threat on the island, encountering many dragons. Dragon Traders is a gift shop after the ride.

The last area of the land is a Chinese area, recreating the fictional world of Kung-Fu Panda. Guests can see their zodiac signs at the Garden of the Twelve Warriors in the center of the land. Nearby is the Noodle House and Warrior Wares. Nearby are the family rides rides Lantern Race and Dragon Spin, as well as the Training Grounds. Then, guests go up to the Jade Palace for the Legend of the Dragon Warrior, a dark ride where they join Po and the Furious Five on a harrowing mission. The ride exits into Master Shifu's Kung-Fu Emporium.

This was my equivalent to Fantasyland. Since I wanted a more family-centered approach, I went for Fantasy films from Dreamworks Animation. The How to Train your Dragon flight simulator was a ride I had been thinking of for a while, and I wanted to include it somewhere, so I had it here. Although I was originally thinking of putting Kung-Fu Panda in Lost World, I felt like it didn't fit the exotic atmosphere there so I instead had it here.

  In front of the park is a district where guests can find food, entertainment, and shops. This connects the park with a parking lot as well as the two hotels of the resort, the Universal Studios Hotel and the Universal World Travel Hotel. Entertainment here includes AMC Theaters, Game Time Arcade, an Entertainment Theater (who performs there changes regularly) and Universal's Great Movie Escape. The last of these are escape rooms based on movies.
